Privacy policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

This notice explains how Hint Hunter Games uses personal information when you visit this website, place an order, contact us or join the newsletter. We act as the controller for the information described here. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].

Information we collect

  • Orders: your email address and, where you provide it at checkout, your name and billing address; order, payment-status and product details; and whether you agreed to immediate digital delivery or opted into marketing.
  • Contact and custom-game enquiries: your name, email address, message and enquiry details. A custom-game enquiry may also include an organisation, project type, event date or budget range.
  • Newsletter: your email address and subscription status.
  • Website operation: technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as request and device information handled by our hosting provider. See our cookie policy for browser storage used by this site.

Card details are entered into Stripe Checkout. We do not receive or store your full card number or security code.

Why we use information and our lawful bases

  • To take and fulfil orders, deliver downloads and provide purchase support: necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep required business, transaction and tax records: compliance with legal obligations.
  • To answer messages and handle custom-game enquiries: our legitimate interests in responding to requests and running our business; where you ask us to take steps before entering a contract, those steps may also be the basis.
  • To send newsletter emails: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in a newsletter or by contacting us.
  • To protect and operate the website and prevent misuse: our legitimate interests in keeping our services secure and available.

We do not add you to the newsletter just because you place an order. If you choose the optional marketing checkbox during checkout, we use that choice to add your email to the newsletter list.

Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to run the shop and provide the services described above:

  • Stripe processes checkout and payments. Stripe may also process information for its own purposes, such as fraud prevention. See Stripe’s Privacy Center.
  • Cloudflare provides website hosting, security, private file storage and related infrastructure.
  • Resend sends order, support and newsletter emails and manages newsletter contacts.

These providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, international transfers rely on an applicable adequacy decision or safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Provider information: Cloudflare, Resend and Stripe.

How long we keep information

  • Orders and accounting records: for the time needed to fulfil the order, meet applicable tax and accounting requirements, and handle disputes or legal claims.
  • Support and custom-game enquiries: we review these emails and delete them 12 months after the enquiry is closed, unless an order, dispute or other justified need means we need to keep them longer.
  • Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. We may keep a minimal suppression record so we can respect an unsubscribe request.
  • Webhook deduplication records: up to 400 days to prevent payment notifications from being processed more than once.

We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed for these purposes, unless a legal requirement or dispute means we must keep it longer.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to provide a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to certain uses. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal. Some rights depend on the circumstances, and legal record-keeping obligations may mean we cannot delete all information immediately.

To make a request, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Changes and contact

We may update this notice when our services or data practices change. The latest version will appear on this page. If you have a question about privacy, contact [email protected].
